Welcome to my combination challenge. What does that mean? It means that the project for this challenge will have a watercolour background with a silhouette in the foreground.
I had such fun with this challenge. For my background I used watercolour paper and, using my Stampin' Spritzer, sprayed it generously with plain water. Then, using my aqua-painter and ink pads, I went to work doing a "patch-work" of colours. I kept the colours subtle. That's something one can easily manage with watercolours: keeping them subtle or making a very colourful, bold statement. I love the way the colours blend into each other where they meet, too. While you can exert some control on the results, there are always some unknowns with watercolouring this way. That's what makes it exciting.
Very pretty! I love the subtly colored background and you used one of my all time favorite stamps! Thank you for playing along with the Paper Players challenge this week.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Debbie. I appreciate your comments.
DeletePerfectly lovely watercolor creation....you did an awesome job with this Serene Silhouettes set! Thanks for sharing this with us at the Players this week!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much, LeAnne. I'm glad the Serene Silhouettes survived the retiring list.
DeleteGorgeous watercolor! Love the soft background. Thanks for playing along at The Paper Players!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Laurie. That's the beauty of watercolour, isn't it? You can have brighter colours but you can also have such pretty, soft colours.
DeleteFirst of all thanks so much for such an wonderful challenge. I liked the combo and doing watercolour really pulls me out of my comfort zone, so it was nice to stretch a bit. I love the subtleness of your colours and the layering with the card stock. Your Silhouette is so striking against this background and in conjunction with the butterfly and sentiment from Blooming with Kindness really makes a statement. Thanks so much for sharing and inspiring!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for those kind words, Penny. I really appreciate that.
