This week is very exciting. First of all we're adding a new Temporary Watercooler Artist for the next three months. It's Penny Hanuszak, who has been linking up her wonderful cards frequently (and winning a number of our challenges). Penny also participates regularly in our monthly
Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop.
The other exciting thing this week is the challenge itself. Marsha Reed is the hostess for a great sketch challenge. I love sketches and this one is no exception.
As you know, you can change things about the sketch as long as it's still recognizably the sketch. I chose to make a square card like the sketch this time but then I decided to flip the sketch over onto its side so that I could create the scene that came to mind with this sketch.
Doesn't that Sitting Here stamp set work out perfectly for this sketch? And those pillows were just asking to replace the flowers in the sketch.
Stamp set: Sitting Here
Papers: Heavy Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Dapper Denim, Whisper White, Affectionately Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper
Inks: Basic Black Archival, Smoky Slate, Dapper Denim, Emerald Envy, Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach, So Saffron, Tangelo Twist
Tools: Woodgrain embossing folder, Softly Falling embossing folder
This is a really sweet card! I'm lovin' the cat! Nice choice of colors as well!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Libby. I love this stamp set and, since I have two cats, it was a given I'd pick the cat to be lounging on that swing. Of course the cat's colouring is the same as my daughter's cat rather than either of mine but that's our dirty little secret. No telling my felines, okay. :)
DeleteSuper cute!!! Thank you for joining us at PINspirational, good luck!!! Amy DT
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Amy.
DeleteJust had to drop by and give you some luv for this great card Heidi. I really like how you used that Specialty DSP for your panel and changed the sketch around to suit your card. Cats are such wonderful characters. I can just see my mom's sitting on the swing watching the birds.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Penny. I don't have one of these cool swings but I know what you mean about bird-watching. One of my cats loves sitting in the window, watching them and chattering at them. The other cat isn't very interested. They all have such different personalities. I love that Specialty DSP. I've used it for a few cards now and the sheet which is embossed with copper is especially stunning.
DeletePretty card!!! Thanks so much for participating in our {PIN}SPIRATIONAL challenge!!! Can’t wait to see you participate again in our next challenge!! Have a great crafty day!!! (So sorry for not commenting sooner but this proving I'm NOT A ROBOT stuff is driving me nuts!!!)
